- Company Domain Matching Keeps Your CRM Organized
Automatically connect contacts to the right companies, create missing company records, and keep your GoHighLevel CRM cleaner using email domains.
Keeping Contacts connected to the right Companies sounds simple—until your CRM starts filling up. New leads arrive, existing Contacts change email addresses, and team members manually create Company records. Before long, you can end up with missing associations, duplicate Companies, and extra cleanup work. GoHighLevel’s new Company Domain Matching feature tackles that problem automatically. When a Contact is created or their email address is updated, GHL can use the email domain to look for the right Company and connect the Contact to it. If a matching Company already exists, GHL can reuse that record instead of creating another one.
If there isn’t a suitable match, it can automatically create a new Company and use the domain to help enrich details such as the Company Name and Logo. Company Domain Matching also includes controls designed to keep your CRM organized. You can prevent duplicate Companies from sharing the same domain, exclude domains you don’t want automatically matched, and avoid creating Companies from common free email providers such as Gmail and Yahoo. For agencies managing B2B leads, this means less time spent organizing Company records by hand and a cleaner foundation for Company Smart Lists, workflows, reporting, and follow-up. Company Domain Matching takes the manual work out of organizing B2B contacts in GHL. Contacts can automatically connect to existing Companies—or trigger new Company records when needed—giving you cleaner CRM data with less hands-on maintenance.

Why It Matters: It reduces the manual work required to create Companies and associate B2B Contacts while helping keep Company records cleaner and more consistent.
What You Get: GHL can match Contacts with existing Companies, create Companies when no suitable match exists, enrich Company details, help prevent duplicate Companies, and exclude selected domains from automatic matching.

Difficulty Level: Beginner. The setup is handled through the GHL Settings area and doesn’t require building a workflow.
Key Outcome: You get a more organized B2B CRM where Company Domain Matching can handle more of the Contact-to-Company organization automatically as new Contacts enter GoHighLevel.
Why Company Domain Matching Matters
Company Domain Matching solves a basic CRM problem that gets harder to manage as your database grows. When B2B Contacts enter GoHighLevel, someone usually needs to make sure each person is connected to the correct Company. Doing that manually takes time, and it’s easy for Company records to get missed or duplicated.
With Company Domain Matching, GHL can use a Contact’s business email domain to help make that connection automatically. Instead of your team stopping to create a Company or search for an existing record, GHL can first check whether a suitable Company is already there.
Automate marketing, manage leads, and grow faster with GoHighLevel.

That existing-record check is important. A Company may already contain Contacts, Opportunities, notes, or other useful information. Reusing that Company helps preserve the data your team has already built instead of spreading customer information across duplicate records.
Cleaner Company data also gives you a better foundation for the rest of your CRM. Company Smart Lists, workflows, reporting, and other Company-based processes become more reliable when Contacts are consistently connected to the right records.
For agencies managing B2B pipelines, Company Domain Matching can remove another repetitive CRM
What’s New with Company Domain Matching
Company Domain Matching adds a new Company Domain Name field to GHL, with uniqueness enabled by default. This gives GoHighLevel a consistent way to identify Companies by their domain and helps prevent multiple Company records from being created for the same business.
When a Contact is created or their email address changes, GHL can check the email domain against your existing Companies. If it finds a suitable match, the Contact can automatically be associated with that Company. This removes the need to manually search for the Company and connect the Contact.
If GHL can’t find a suitable match, it can create a new Company automatically. The platform can also enrich the new Company with details such as its Company Name and Logo. Enrichment is best effort, so a lack of enrichment data won’t prevent the Company record from being created.
Company Domain Matching also looks for existing Company records before creating something new. For example, if an Acme Company record already exists without a domain, GHL can identify that Company, populate its domain information, and reuse the existing record rather than create another Acme Company.
You also get control over which domains participate in this automation. Common free email providers, including Gmail and Yahoo, are excluded, and you can add your own domains to the exclusion list. That helps keep personal email addresses and other unwanted domains from creating or associating Company records automatically.
How to Enable Company Domain Matching
Setting up Company Domain Matching takes you through the Settings area of your GoHighLevel sub-account. You’ll first turn on the new Labs feature, then open your Company settings and configure how GHL handles Company enrichment, automatic creation, duplicate prevention, and excluded domains.
Once this is set up, GHL can check a Contact’s email domain when a Contact is created or their email address is updated. It can then associate the Contact with an existing Company or create a new Company when a suitable match isn’t found.
This is currently a Labs feature, so you need to turn on Automatic Company Creation & Association by Domain before you can configure the Company automation settings.
Here are the steps you’ll follow:
• Access the Settings area in GoHighLevel
• Enable Automatic Company Creation & Association by Domain
• Access the Companies page
• Configure Company Domain Matching
• Add Domains to the Exclusion List
• Save Your Company Domain Matching Settings
To start make sure you are logged in to your GoHighLevel sub-account.
Step 01 – Access the Settings area in GoHighLevel
Go to the bottom of the Main Menu on the left-hand sidebar.
1.1 Click the gear icon ⚙️ labeled Settings.
- This opens the Settings dashboard, where you can access Business Info, Billing, My Staff and other settings for your sub-account.

Step 02 – Enable Automatic Company Creation & Association by Domain
You’ll first need to turn on the Labs feature that makes Company Domain Matching available in your sub-account.
2.1 Click Labs in the Settings menu.
- The Labs page opens and displays the available experimental and newly released features you can enable for the sub-account.
2.2 Find Automatic Company Creation & Association by Domain.
- This is the Labs feature that enables domain-based Company creation and Contact-to-Company association.
2.3 Enable Automatic Company Creation & Association by Domain.
- Once enabled, the domain-based Company automation options can be configured in your Company settings.

Step 03 – Access the Companies page
Next, go to your Company object settings where you can configure how Company Domain Matching works.
3.1 Click Objects in the Settings menu.
- The Objects page opens and gives you access to the objects available inside your GHL sub-account.
3.2 Click Companies.
- The Companies page opens, where you can manage the settings and automation options for your Company records.

Step 04 – Configure Company Domain Matching
Use the Automations options on the Companies page to control what GHL does when it identifies a Contact with a business email domain.
4.1 Locate the Automations section.
- This section contains the settings used to control automatic Company creation, enrichment, and duplicate prevention.
4.2 Enable Enrich companies automatically.
- GHL can attempt to enrich Company records with available information, including the Company Name and Logo.
4.3 Enable Create companies from contact’s email domain.
- When GHL can’t find a suitable existing Company for a Contact’s email domain, this option allows it to automatically create a new Company.
4.4 Enable Automatically prevent duplicate companies.
- This helps prevent multiple Company records from being created with the same Company Domain Name.

Step 05 – Add Domains to the Exclusion List
Not every email domain should create or associate a Company. GHL automatically excludes common free email providers such as Gmail and Yahoo, and you can add additional domains that you don’t want used for Company Domain Matching.
5.1 Locate Exclude domains from automatic association.
- This setting lets you specify additional domains that GHL should ignore during automatic Contact-to-Company association.

5.2 Add each custom domain that you want GHL to exclude.
- Contacts using an excluded domain won’t use that domain for automatic Company association.
- Add domains that could otherwise create incorrect Company associations or Company records in your specific CRM setup.

Step 06 – Save Your Company Domain Matching Settings
Once you’ve reviewed your Company automation and exclusion settings, save your configuration.
6.1 Click Save.
- Your Company Domain Matching configuration is saved for the sub-account.

Once Company Domain Matching is active, GHL can check for an existing Company when a Contact is created or the Contact’s email address is updated.
For example, if Sarah enters your CRM with [email protected], GHL can look for an existing Company associated with acme.com. If it finds a suitable Company, Sarah can be automatically associated with that existing record.
If an existing Acme Company doesn’t have a domain yet, GHL can attempt to identify the existing Company, populate its domain information, and reuse the record rather than creating a duplicate. If GHL can’t find a suitable Company, it can create a new Company and attempt to enrich it with details such as the Company Name and Logo.
Your existing Automatically create and associate companies from contact business names setting can continue working alongside Company Domain Matching, so you don’t have to replace that automation to use the new domain-based option.

Quick Tips for Company Domain Matching
Company Domain Matching can save a lot of manual CRM work, but there are a few details you should understand before relying on it across your sub-accounts.
First, GHL respects existing Company associations. If a Contact is already connected to a Company, the new domain matching process won’t automatically replace that association. This helps protect the Company relationships your team has already set up.
Free email providers are also excluded from automatic matching. Addresses using common providers such as Gmail and Yahoo won’t automatically create Company records based on those domains. You can also add your own domains to the exclusion list when there are specific domains you don’t want used for automatic association.
Pay close attention to subdomains. Company Domain Matching uses exact domain matching, so company.com and mail.company.com are treated as different domains. If your clients regularly receive Contacts from businesses using subdomains, keep this in mind when reviewing Company records.
Company enrichment is also a best-effort process. GHL may attempt to add details such as the Company Name and Logo, but missing enrichment data won’t stop the Company from being created. During domain backfilling, manually entered Company domains are also preserved rather than overwritten.
Finally, you don’t have to choose between domain matching and GHL’s existing business-name automation. The existing Automatically create and associate companies from contact business names feature can work alongside Company Domain Matching, giving you another way to keep B2B Contacts organized.
What Company Domain Matching Means for Your Business
Company Domain Matching isn’t just about saving a few clicks. It can change how much manual CRM cleanup your team needs to do as new B2B Contacts enter GoHighLevel.
Instead of relying on someone to create a Company, search for an existing record, and associate each Contact manually, GHL can handle much of that organization automatically. That becomes especially useful for agencies managing larger databases or multiple client sub-accounts.
Company Domain Matching can also help reduce duplicate Company records. When GHL checks for a suitable existing Company before creating a new one, important information can stay connected to the Company record your team is already using. That can include existing Contacts, Opportunities, notes, and other Company information.
The benefit goes beyond cleaner records. When Contacts are consistently associated with the right Companies, you have a stronger foundation for Company Smart Lists, workflows, reporting, and other processes that depend on accurate CRM data.
For B2B agencies, that means your CRM can do more of the organizing as Contacts come in. You still need to review your settings and maintain good data, but Company Domain Matching removes a repetitive task that shouldn’t require your team’s attention every time a new business Contact enters GHL.
Real-World Company Domain Matching in GHL
Company Domain Matching becomes especially useful when several people from the same business enter your CRM at different times.
Imagine your client sells commercial services. Sarah from Acme submits a form using [email protected]. A week later, another employee books an appointment using [email protected]. Later, a third Acme employee enters the CRM through another lead source.
Without consistent Company associations, those Contacts can end up sitting in the CRM as separate people with no clear connection between them. Someone on the team may need to recognize the business, find the Acme Company record, and manually connect each Contact.
With Company Domain Matching enabled, GHL can use acme.com to look for the appropriate existing Company. When a suitable match exists, new Contacts using that domain can be associated with the existing Company instead of requiring the same manual organization each time.
This gives your sales or service team a clearer view of the people connected to the same business. It can also provide cleaner Company data for Smart Lists, workflows, and reporting that rely on accurate Contact-to-Company relationships.
For agencies working with B2B clients, the practical benefit is simple: as more business Contacts enter GoHighLevel, Company Domain Matching can handle more of the basic CRM organization automatically.

Company Domain Matching Keeps Your CRM Organized
Company Domain Matching gives GHL users a practical way to reduce the manual work involved in managing B2B Contacts and Companies. Instead of relying on your team to recognize every business, find the right Company, and connect each Contact manually, GoHighLevel can use email domains to help organize those relationships automatically.
The biggest benefit is cleaner Company data as your CRM grows. GHL can look for an existing Company before creating a new record, automatically associate qualifying Contacts, help prevent duplicate Companies, and attempt to enrich Company information along the way.
You still have control over how the feature works. Existing Company associations are respected, common free email providers are excluded, and you can add your own domains to the exclusion list. That makes Company Domain Matching useful without giving up control of how your Company records are organized.
Before enabling the feature across active client accounts, review the existing Company records and decide which domains should be excluded. Then configure the Company automation settings based on how that client uses their CRM.
For agencies managing B2B leads in GoHighLevel, Company Domain Matching is a useful piece of CRM automation. It takes a repetitive organizational task off your plate and helps keep the Company data behind your workflows, Smart Lists, and reporting more consistent.
