Website QR Codes in GoHighLevel: Create Them in One Click

Build smarter QR links for any website page, keep them working after URL changes, and download them for print or digital use.

Website QR Codes just got a whole lot easier to create inside GoHighLevel. Instead of copying a page URL, opening another tool, and building the QR Code manually, you can now create one right from the Website Builder. GoHighLevel has added a new QR Code icon beside the page URL inside the Website Builder. Click it, and GHL creates a QR Code connected directly to the website page you’re working on. You can also create Website QR Codes from the main QR Code Builder. Choose the new Website type, select your website, pick the page, and GHL handles the link for you. No copying. No pasting. No wondering whether you grabbed the right URL.

The bigger win is what happens later. These QR Codes are connected to the actual website page instead of being locked to one fixed URL. If you change the page slug or move the website to another domain, the QR Code can still send visitors to the correct page. That’s a big deal when the code is already printed on a menu, flyer, business card, sign, brochure, or product package. Website QR Codes now give agencies and businesses a much cleaner way to connect offline marketing with their GoHighLevel websites. You can create them faster, brand them, download them for print or digital use, and avoid rebuilding printed QR Codes just because a website URL changes.

Website QR Codes make it faster to connect offline marketing with your GoHighLevel website pages. Create them in one click, customise them for your brand, and keep them pointing to the right page even if the slug or domain changes.

Quick Summary – Website QR Codes at a Glance

Purpose: Website QR Codes let you create a QR Code for a specific GoHighLevel website page directly from the Website Builder or QR Code Builder.

Why It Matters: The QR Code stays connected to the selected page, helping reduce broken links if you later change the page slug or website domain.

What You Get: You can create, customise, download, and manage Website QR Codes inside GHL without manually copying and pasting page URLs.

Time To Complete: Most users should be able to create and test a Website QR Code in just a few minutes.

Difficulty Level: Easy. The process is beginner-friendly and uses tools already built into the Sites area of GoHighLevel.

Key Outcome: You get a faster and more reliable way to connect printed marketing, signage, menus, business cards, and other offline materials to your GHL website pages.

What’s New with Website QR Codes

Website QR Codes are now built directly into the GoHighLevel Website Builder, which cuts out a bunch of unnecessary steps.

When you open a website page in GHL, you’ll now see a QR Code icon beside the page URL. Click it and you can generate a QR Code for that exact page without leaving the builder.

Automate marketing, manage leads, and grow faster with GoHighLevel.

GoHighLevel has also added a new Website option inside the QR Code Builder. Instead of pasting in a URL, you simply choose the website, choose the page, and let GHL connect the QR Code to it.

That page-based connection is the most important part of the update. These Website QR Codes are linked to the page itself, not just the current URL. So if you change the page slug or switch the website to another domain later, the QR Code can still open the correct page.

You can also download the finished QR Code as PNG, SVG, or PDF, depending on how you plan to use it. If you want to change the look, Edit QR takes you into the QR Code Builder so you can adjust colours, shapes, and branding.

One other change is worth knowing. The old QR type called Website, which worked like a basic link QR Code, is now called URL. Existing QR Codes still work the same. Only the name has changed.

Why Website QR Codes Matter

Website QR Codes matter because they make offline marketing a lot easier to manage.

Think about where QR Codes get used. Menus. Flyers. Business cards. Storefront signs. Event posters. Product packaging. Once those materials are printed, changing the link behind them can become a headache.

That’s where this update helps.

Because the new Website QR Codes are tied to the actual GoHighLevel page instead of only the current URL, they’re more flexible when your website changes. If you update the page slug or switch domains later, you don’t have to worry about every printed QR Code instantly becoming outdated.

That can save agencies and business owners from reprinting materials just because a website address changed.

It also speeds up the setup process. Instead of copying URLs, opening another tool, pasting the link, and checking that everything matches, you can create the QR Code directly from the Website Builder or select the page from the QR Code Builder.

For agencies managing several client accounts, that means fewer manual steps and less room for mistakes.

The biggest opportunity is simple: Website QR Codes make it easier to connect real-world marketing with digital pages. A restaurant can send customers to a menu. A contractor can link a yard sign to a quote page. A local business can turn a printed flyer into a direct path to an offer, booking page, or contact page.

Less friction. Fewer broken links. Faster setup.

How to Use Website QR Codes

There are two ways to create Website QR Codes in GoHighLevel. The fastest method is directly from the Website Builder when you are already working on the page you want to promote. You can generate the QR Code for that page without copying or pasting its URL.

You can also create a Website QR Code from the main QR Code Builder. This method is useful when you want to manage your QR Codes from one place, choose a website and page manually, or customise the design before downloading it.

In this guide, you will learn both methods.

Create a Website QR Code from the Website Builder

This is the quickest option when you are already working inside a GoHighLevel website. GHL creates the QR Code for the page you are editing, so you do not need to copy the page URL or manually choose the destination.

Before starting, make sure the website has a connected domain. The Website Builder QR Code option requires the website page to have a live destination that the QR Code can open.

To start make sure you are logged in to your GoHighLevel sub-account.

Step 01 – Access the Websites page in GoHighLevel

The Main Menu on the left side of your screen has all the main areas that you work in when using GHL.

1.1 Click Sites in the Main Menu.

• The Sites section contains the main website and lead-generation tools available inside your sub-account, including Websites, Funnels, Stores, QR Codes and more.

1.2 Click Websites in the top menu.

• The Websites page will open and display the websites currently created inside the sub-account.

1.3 Locate the website that contains the page you want to connect to the QR Code.

• Make sure you select the correct website if the sub-account contains multiple websites.

Step 02 – Access the Website Pages page

2.1 Open the website.

  • The Website Pages page will open and display the pages created for that website.
  • The website should have a connected domain before you create the Website QR Code.

Step 03 – Open the page in the Website Builder

3.1 Locate the website page that you want people to visit when they scan the QR Code.

  • Choose the final destination page carefully. This is the page that GHL will connect to the Website QR Code.

3.2 Open the page in the Website Builder.

  • Click Edit
  • The Website Builder will open for the selected page.

Step 04 – Create the Website QR Code

4.1 Locate the QR Code icon beside the page URL.

  • This new QR Code option creates a QR Code specifically for the website page you currently have open.

4.2 Click the QR Code icon.

  • The Website QR Code section will open.
  • GoHighLevel automatically connects the QR Code to the current website page. You do not need to copy or paste the page URL.

4.3 Review the Website QR Code before downloading it.

  • Confirm that you are working on the correct website page.
  • Because this is a Website QR Code, GHL ties it to the page rather than only storing the current URL.

Step 05 – Customise the Website QR Code

You can download the Website QR Code immediately, or open the QR Code Builder if you want to change its appearance.

5.1 Select the download format you want to use.

  • Choose PNG for common digital uses such as graphics, emails, documents and online promotions.
  • Choose SVG when you need a scalable graphic for larger signs, banners or professional design work.
  • Choose PDF when you want a print-ready format for flyers, menus, signage, packaging or other printed materials.

5.2 Click Edit QR if you want to customise the QR Code.

  • GoHighLevel will open Step 3 of the QR Code Builder.
  • From here, you can adjust the colours, shapes and branding of the Website QR Code.

5.3 Save your changes when you are happy with the design.

  • Download the finished QR Code in the format that works best for your project.

5.4 Scan the finished QR Code with a mobile device.

  • Confirm that it opens the correct website page before adding it to any marketing material.
  • Always test the finished QR Code before printing large quantities of menus, flyers, signs, business cards or packaging.

Create a Website QR Code from the QR Code Builder

You do not have to open the Website Builder every time you want to create a Website QR Code. GoHighLevel also includes a Website option inside the main QR Code Builder.

This method lets you select the website and page from dropdown menus. It is a useful option when you are creating or managing QR Codes directly from the QR Codes area of GHL.

To start make sure you are logged in to your GoHighLevel sub-account.

Step 01 – Access the QR Codes page in GoHighLevel

The Main Menu on the left side of your screen has all the main areas that you work in when using GHL.

1.1 Click Sites in the Main Menu.

  • The Sites section contains Websites, Funnels, Stores, QR Codes and other website tools.

1.2 Click QR Codes in the top menu.

  • The QR Codes page will open.
  • This page contains the QR Codes created inside the sub-account and gives you access to the QR Code Builder.

Step 02 – Create a new QR Code

2.1 Click Create QR.

  • The QR Code Builder will open and display the available QR Code types.

Step 03 – Select the Website QR Code type

3.1 Select Website as the QR Code type.

  • The Website type is designed specifically for pages created inside a GoHighLevel website.
  • Do not confuse this with the URL type. The previous QR Code type called Website has been renamed URL and continues to work as a standard fixed web link.
  • Selecting Website gives you options to choose the GHL website and page directly instead of pasting a URL.

Step 04 – Select the website and page

4.1 Click the Website dropdown.

  • A list of available websites in the sub-account will open.

4.2 Select the website that contains your destination page.

  • After selecting the website, GHL allows you to choose one of the pages associated with that website.

4.3 Click the Page dropdown.

  • The available pages for the selected website will appear.

4.4 Select the page you want the Website QR Code to open.

  • GoHighLevel connects the QR Code directly to the selected website page.
  • You do not need to copy or paste the page URL.

Step 05 – Customise and save the Website QR Code

5.1 Continue to the QR Code customisation options.

  • Use the available design settings to adjust the appearance of the QR Code.

5.2 Set the colours, shapes and branding you want to use.

  • Keep enough contrast between the QR Code and its background so it remains easy for mobile devices to scan.

5.3 Save the Website QR Code.

  • The QR Code will be added to your QR Codes list.

5.4 Download the finished QR Code in the format you need.

  • Select PNG, SVG or PDF based on where the QR Code will be used.

5.5 Scan the QR Code with a mobile device.

  • Confirm that it opens the correct website page before publishing or printing it.

Pro Tips for Website QR Codes

Website QR Codes are simple to create, but a few small choices can make them much more useful in the real world.

Use the Website QR type when you are linking to a page built inside GoHighLevel. That way, the QR Code stays connected to the actual page instead of relying on one fixed URL.

For printed materials, use SVG or PDF whenever possible. These formats hold up better when the QR Code is placed on signs, menus, posters, packaging, or larger designs.

PNG works well for digital use, including emails, social posts, presentations, and online graphics.

Keep the QR Code easy to scan. Use strong contrast between the code and the background, and avoid placing too many design elements around it.

Always test the QR Code before publishing or printing anything. Scan it from more than one phone if possible and make sure it opens the correct page quickly.

Add a clear call to action beside the QR Code. Don’t just drop a square code onto a flyer and hope people know what to do.

Simple instructions work best, such as:

  • Scan to Book
  • Scan to View the Menu
  • Scan to Get the Offer
  • Scan to Learn More
  • Scan to Contact Us

If you manage multiple client websites, use the Website QR type wherever possible. It reduces the risk of printed QR Codes becoming outdated after a page slug or domain change.

And one last thing: don’t make the QR Code too small. If people have to fight with their camera to scan it, the whole thing becomes useless.

What Website QR Codes Mean for Your Business

Website QR Codes give businesses a cleaner way to connect offline marketing with online actions.

A local business can place a QR Code on a flyer and send people straight to a booking page. A restaurant can add one to a table card and link directly to a menu. A contractor can put one on a yard sign and send prospects to a quote request page.

For agencies, this is just as useful.

You can create QR Codes for client websites faster, keep everything inside GoHighLevel, and reduce the chance of linking to the wrong page. You also avoid relying on a fixed URL that may become outdated later.

That matters when printed materials are already out in the world.

If a client changes a page slug or moves the website to a different domain, the Website QR Code stays tied to the selected page. That can save you from reprinting signs, brochures, business cards, or packaging just because the website structure changed.

The real value is flexibility.

You can use Website QR Codes to move people from physical marketing into digital actions like booking, buying, requesting a quote, viewing an offer, or learning more.

For businesses already using GHL websites, this update removes a small but annoying job from the process.

Fewer steps. Less manual linking. More reliable offline-to-online marketing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Website QR Codes

Put Website QR Codes to Work

Website QR Codes remove a few annoying steps from a job that should have been simple in the first place.

You can now create a QR Code directly from the GoHighLevel Website Builder, or use the QR Code Builder to select a website and page without copying and pasting URLs.

The biggest win is reliability. Because the QR Code is tied to the website page instead of only the current URL, it can keep pointing people to the right place even if you change the page slug or domain later.

That makes Website QR Codes a better fit for printed materials like flyers, menus, signs, business cards, packaging, and anything else that might stay in use for months.

For agencies, this also means fewer manual steps and less chance of sending people to the wrong page.

If you already use GHL websites, this is an update worth putting to work right away.

Try creating one Website QR Code for a live page, test it on your phone, and then think about where you can use it to connect offline traffic with a booking page, offer, menu, quote form, or other key page.
