Product Variant Selection: Sell Smarter with GHL

Sell More Options with Product Variant Selection

Product Variant Selection in GHL just made selling through Forms and Surveys a whole lot easier. You can now give customers different pricing and product options while managing the payment setup from one streamlined panel.

Not every customer is looking for the same product setup. Some may need a different size, package, price, or version.

Until now, handling those choices through the Sell Products element wasn’t as flexible.

That’s where the improved Sell Products experience comes in.

Open the Sell Products element inside a GHL Form or Survey and you’ll now find a unified Payment configuration panel on the right. From there, you can connect your payment provider, choose the products you want to sell, configure available price levels, and set up Product Variant Selection without jumping between different areas.

The customer side gets more flexible too. When supported products have multiple price levels, customers can choose the pricing option they want. If a product has variants available, they can select the appropriate variant before submitting the Form or Survey.

Those choices stay connected to the transaction. GHL clearly displays the selected price and variant in the payment summary and passes that information through to checkout, invoicing, and payment processing.

Required selections are handled too. If a customer needs to choose a price or variant, GHL validates that selection before the Form or Survey can be submitted. That helps prevent incomplete product orders from slipping through.

Existing Forms and Surveys aren’t being forced into the new setup either. They’ll continue working as before unless you choose to update their payment configuration.

For agencies managing product sales for clients, that could mean a much cleaner setup. You can give customers more buying options without creating a complicated payment experience behind the scenes.

That makes Product Variant Selection more than a small Forms and Surveys update. It gives businesses a more flexible way to sell products while keeping pricing, product choices, checkout, and payments connected from start to finish.

Product Variant Selection gives customers more control over what they buy while making payment setup easier inside GHL. You can manage products, price levels, variants, and payment settings from one streamlined interface and carry those choices through the entire payment process.

What’s New with Product Variant Selection

Product Variant Selection gives the Sell Products element in GHL Forms and Surveys a much more flexible setup.

The biggest change starts with the new unified Payment configuration panel. When you’re working with the Sell Products element, your payment settings now sit together in a right-side panel. That gives you one place to manage the main parts of your product and payment setup.

You can also connect a payment provider directly from this panel. If the provider you want to use isn’t already connected, you don’t have to leave the builder just to get that part sorted.

Then there are the new customer choices.

Supported products with multiple price levels can now let customers select the price option they want. This could be useful when the same product has different pricing choices available rather than forcing everyone through one fixed option.

Product Variant Selection adds another layer of flexibility. When variants are available for a product, customers can choose the appropriate option directly within the buying experience.

GHL also makes those selections clear in the payment summary. The chosen price and product variant are displayed before the transaction moves forward, so customers have a clearer picture of what they’re purchasing.

More importantly, those choices don’t disappear after submission. The selected price and variant are passed through to checkout, invoicing, and payment processing.

If a price or variant selection is required, GHL validates it before the Form or Survey can be submitted.

Put it all together and the Sell Products element can now handle more of the buying experience from one place. You get simpler payment configuration behind the scenes, while your customers get more control over the product and pricing options they choose.

What’s Changed with Product Variant Selection

The Sell Products element already gave GHL users a way to collect payments through Forms and Surveys. What’s changed is how much of that selling experience you can now control from one place.

The biggest difference is the new unified Payment configuration panel.

Instead of treating payment setup and product configuration like separate pieces of the process, GHL now brings them together in the right-side panel. You can connect your payment provider, select products, manage pricing options, and configure available variants from the same area.

Product Variant Selection also changes what customers can do before they buy.

If a supported product has variants available, customers can now choose the option they want as part of the Form or Survey. Products with multiple prices can also display available price levels for the customer to select.

GHL then carries those choices beyond the initial form.

The selected price and variant are shown in the payment summary and passed through to checkout, invoicing, and payment processing. This helps keep the product the customer selected connected with the rest of the transaction.

There’s also an important safeguard built into Product Variant Selection. When a price level or variant is required, the customer must make that choice before submitting the Form or Survey.

And if you already have Forms or Surveys collecting payments, you don’t need to rebuild them.

Existing payment settings remain supported, and your current Forms and Surveys will continue working as they did before. Nothing changes unless you decide to update the payment configuration and start using the new options.

So, while the Sell Products element itself isn’t new, the way you configure and use it is now much more flexible.

Why Product Variant Selection Matters

Product Variant Selection matters because customers don’t always buy products in one fixed way.

A product might have several versions, options, or price levels. Giving customers those choices directly inside a GHL Form or Survey creates a smoother path from making a decision to completing the purchase.

For businesses, the big win is flexibility.

Instead of building a separate selling experience for every available option, you can configure supported price levels and variants around the products you’re already selling. Customers can then choose what works for them before they submit.

That can be especially useful for agencies building Forms and Surveys for clients with more complex product catalogs.

A client might sell a product with several available variants. Another might offer multiple supported price levels for the same product. Product Variant Selection gives you a cleaner way to present those choices without making the buying process harder than it needs to be.

The unified Payment panel can also save time during setup.

You can work with products, pricing, variants, and your payment provider from the same area of the builder. That means fewer places to jump between when you’re putting together or updating a sales Form or Survey.

There’s a customer experience benefit too.

Buyers can see their selected price and variant in the payment summary, and GHL validates required choices before submission. That makes it harder for someone to accidentally move forward without choosing an option they need.

For agencies, that adds up to a more useful Sell Products experience. You can build flexible purchase options for clients while keeping the setup and payment process connected inside GHL.

How to Use Product Variant Selection in GHL

This is where Product Variant Selection becomes useful. The updated Sell Products setup lets you manage the product, available pricing, variants, and payment connection from inside the Form or Survey builder.

The process is straightforward. You’ll add or open your Sell Products element, work through the unified Payment panel, configure the available choices, and then test everything before sending customers to the Form or Survey.

  • Access Forms or Surveys in GoHighLevel.
  • Add the Sell Products Element.
  • Open the Unified Payment Panel.
  • Connect Your Payment Provider.
  • Configure Products, Prices and Variants.
  • Preview and Test the Buying Experience.

To start, make sure you’re logged in to the correct GoHighLevel sub-account.

Step 01 – Access Forms or Surveys in GoHighLevel

  • Start by opening the area of GHL where your Forms and Surveys are managed. For this guide, we’ll use an existing Form.

1.1 Go to the main menu on the left side of your GHL dashboard. Click on Sites.

  • This opens the Sites area, where you can access the tools for building and managing Forms and Surveys.

1.2 Open the Forms or Surveys area, depending on what you want to build.

  • Both can use the Sell Products element, but for this guide, we’ll be working with Forms. In this guide, I will use Forms.

1.3 Open an existing Form you want to update.

  • Choose the Form where you want to set up and use Product Variant Selection.

Step 02 – Add the Sell Products Element

  • Next, add the Sell Products element to your Form. This is the part of the Form that lets you add products and configure the available purchase options.

2.1 Add the Sell Products element to your Form or Survey if it isn’t already included.

  • Find the Sell Products element in the Form builder and add it where you want your product options to appear.

2.2 Select the Sell Products element to access its configuration options.

  • This opens the settings you’ll use to control how products and their available purchasing options appear on the Form.

Step 03 – Open the Unified Payment Panel

  • Now open the Payment panel for the Sell Products element. This is where you’ll find the main settings for configuring your products and payments.

3.1 Look at the right side of the builder. Open the unified Payment configuration panel for the Sell Products element.

  • The Payment panel keeps your product and payment configuration in one place, making it easier to work through the setup.

3.2 Review the available product and payment settings.

  • Take a moment to check the available options before making changes, especially your products, pricing, variants, and payment settings.

Step 04 – Connect Your Payment Provider

  • Check whether your preferred payment provider is already connected.

4.1 If it isn’t connected, use the option inside the Payment panel to connect your payment provider directly from the builder. Complete the required connection process.

  • Confirm the provider is connected before moving on to your product configuration.

Step 05 – Configure Products, Prices and Variants

  • Now you can choose what you want to sell and set up the available pricing and variant options customers can pick from.

5.1 Select the products you want customers to purchase through the Form or Survey.

  • Choose the products you want to make available so customers only see the items they can purchase through this Form.

5.2 Review the pricing options available for each supported product.

  • Configure the available price levels when the product has multiple price configurations.
  • Enable the available Product Variant Selection options when the product has variants.
  • Check that customers are being shown the product choices you actually want them to select.

Price level and variant choices are only available for supported products that have those configurations.

Step 06 – Preview and Test the Buying Experience

  • Before publishing your Form, test the buying experience yourself. This helps you catch any problems with products, pricing, or variants before customers see them.

6.1 Preview your completed Form or Survey.

  • Test the experience as if you were the customer. Choose an available price level.

Don’t skip this last part. A Form that looks right in the builder still needs to work properly from the customer’s side.

Once everything checks out, your Form or Survey is ready to give customers more control over what they purchase while keeping the payment experience connected inside GHL.

Quick Tips for Product Variant Selection

Product Variant Selection gives you more flexibility, but that doesn’t mean you should throw every possible choice at your customers. A few simple adjustments can make the buying experience much easier to use.

Keep your product choices clear. If you have several variants or price levels available, use product names and options that make sense to the customer. They shouldn’t have to guess what they’re selecting.

Don’t add choices just because you can. Too many options can make a simple purchase feel complicated. Only make the price levels and variants available that customers actually need.

Always check your required selections. If a customer needs to choose a specific price or variant, make sure that requirement works properly before publishing the Form or Survey. GHL validates required selections before submission, but you still want to test the setup yourself.

Take advantage of the unified Payment panel when updating your sales experience. Having the payment provider, products, pricing, and Product Variant Selection settings together makes it easier to review the whole setup before going live.

And don’t stop testing at the Form or Survey itself.

Run through the buying process like a real customer. Choose a price level and variant, review the payment summary, and confirm those choices carry through correctly to checkout, invoicing, and payment processing.

Don’t forget about mobile. Open the Form or Survey on your phone and make sure choosing a product, price, and variant still feels simple.

A couple of minutes spent testing can save you from confused customers and incorrect orders later.

What Product Variant Selection Means for Your Business

Product Variant Selection gives businesses more room to sell the way their customers actually want to buy.

Think about a client selling a product that comes with several options. Instead of forcing every customer toward one version, the Form or Survey can let them choose from the supported variants before completing their purchase.

The same idea applies to pricing.

When a supported product has multiple price levels, customers can select from the available pricing choices. That creates a more flexible buying experience without sending people through completely separate Forms or Surveys for every available option.

For agencies, this can make client setups easier to manage.

You could have an ecommerce client selling products with different variants. Another client might need several pricing choices for the same product. Instead of treating every choice like a separate sales process, you can use Product Variant Selection and price levels to bring those options into the Sell Products experience.

There’s less jumping around on the setup side too.

The unified Payment panel brings the payment provider, products, pricing, and variants into one area. That makes it easier to review the complete setup when you’re building a new sales Form or making changes for a client.

More importantly, the customer’s choices stay connected.

Their selected price and variant are reflected in the payment summary and passed through to checkout, invoicing, and payment processing. Required choices are also validated before submission.

That means Product Variant Selection isn’t just about giving customers more buttons to click.

It gives agencies and businesses a cleaner way to offer more purchasing choices while keeping the product, price, order details, and payment process working together inside GHL.

Results You Can Expect with Product Variant Selection

Product Variant Selection should make selling through GHL Forms and Surveys easier for both the business setting up the offer and the customer making the purchase.

The first result is a simpler setup.

Products, pricing choices, variants, and payment settings can now be managed through the unified Payment panel. You can even connect your payment provider from there when needed. That means less jumping between different areas while building your sales experience.

Customers get more flexibility too.

If a supported product has multiple price levels, buyers can choose the pricing option that works for them. When variants are available, Product Variant Selection lets them choose the specific product option they want before submitting.

You should also get clearer order information.

The selected price and variant appear in the payment summary and are passed through to checkout, invoicing, and payment processing. This keeps the customer’s original choices connected as the transaction moves forward.

Required selections can help reduce incomplete orders as well. If the customer needs to choose a price level or variant, GHL validates that choice before allowing the Form or Survey to be submitted.

For agencies, another potential win is simpler client builds.

Instead of creating separate purchase experiences every time a supported product has different prices or variants, you may be able to offer those choices within the same Sell Products setup.

The end result is pretty simple: more purchasing flexibility for customers and a cleaner way for businesses to manage the sale.

Product Variant Selection won’t change how every business sells through GHL. But when you have products with multiple prices or variants, it gives you more control without making the buying process unnecessarily complicated.

FAQs – Product Variant Selection

Conclusions – Product Variant Selection

Product Variant Selection gives GHL users a better way to sell products with different pricing and purchasing options through Forms and Surveys.

The biggest improvement is how everything comes together.

The unified Payment panel gives you one place to work with your payment provider, products, price levels, variants, and other payment settings. That can make setting up or updating the Sell Products element much easier.

Your customers get more control too.

When supported products have multiple price levels or variants, buyers can choose the option that works for them. Their selections appear in the payment summary and carry through to checkout, invoicing, and payment processing.

GHL also validates required price and variant selections before submission. That extra check can help prevent customers from moving forward without choosing an option they need.

And you don’t have to worry about rebuilding your existing Forms and Surveys.

Your current setups will continue working as they did before. You can start using Product Variant Selection when it makes sense for the products you or your clients sell.

For agencies, that flexibility is where this update could really earn its keep. Instead of building separate buying experiences for every product option, you can give customers more choices while keeping the sales process connected inside GHL.

If you sell products through Forms or Surveys, open the Sell Products element and take a look at the new Payment panel. Test your available price levels and variants, preview the customer experience, and make sure everything carries through correctly before going live.
