Prospect Contact Enrichment Guide
Want to turn the businesses you find through GHL Prospecting into contacts your team can actually use? Prospect Contact Enrichment gives you a better way to bring prospect data into GoHighLevel, with more complete contact details, cleaner CRM records, and less duplicate cleanup.
The team here at GHL Growth Garage has another exciting GoHighLevel feature guide for you. GHL has improved Prospect Contact Enrichment so sub-account Prospecting can go beyond Google Business Profile data and pull available phone numbers and email addresses from a prospect’s website. That gives you more useful information before your team even starts the outreach process.
Before this update, Prospecting could create basic business contacts, but different emails or phone numbers could also lead to extra contact records. Now, GHL creates one primary business contact and can add additional phone numbers and email addresses to that same record. Your prospect can also include the website URL, address and location details, Prospecting Tool contact source, prospect tags, and other available business information.
You can also choose how much extra contact research you want GHL to do. If finding the people behind the business matters, turn on contact enrichment and Prospecting can look for owners, managers, and other Points of Contact. Any POCs it finds can be added to the CRM as their own contacts. If you’d rather keep things simple, leave it off and GHL will focus on creating the main business contact from available Google Business Profile data.
This can make a big difference when you’re prospecting at scale. Instead of finding 100 businesses and then spending hours cleaning records, hunting down contact details, or sorting through unnecessary duplicates, you can start with cleaner prospect data that’s easier to filter and organize.
That better data can also help with what happens next. Prospect tags, contact source information, emails, phone numbers, and other available details give you more to work with when building Smart Lists, workflows, segmentation, and sales follow-up inside GHL.
Prospect Contact Enrichment turns Prospecting into a stronger bridge between finding a potential customer and actually working that lead inside your CRM. You get richer contact information, fewer duplicate business contacts, better access to decision-makers when you need them, and cleaner data for the outreach and automation that comes next.
The latest GoHighLevel Changelog includes several other GHL feature updates that round out your daily workflow:

What’s New with Prospect Contact Enrichment
Prospect Contact Enrichment now gives GHL users more useful information when turning a prospect into a CRM contact. Instead of relying mainly on Google Business Profile data, sub-account Prospecting can also search the prospect’s website for available phone numbers and email addresses.
The CRM contact itself is getting better too. New contacts created through Prospecting can include the Prospecting Tool as the contact source, prospect tags, website URL, address and location details, business information, and available phone numbers and emails. If GHL finds additional phone numbers or email addresses for the business, they can be stored on the primary contact instead of creating another business contact for every new piece of information.
You can now choose whether GHL should look for people behind the business, not just the business itself. If you need an owner, manager, or someone else involved in making decisions, Prospecting can search for those contacts too.
Turn this enrichment on, and Prospecting can search for POCs along with additional emails and phone numbers from available websites, listings, and other sources. Each POC found is created as its own CRM contact, keeping the individual person separate from the primary business contact.
Turn it off, and Prospecting creates only the primary business contact using available Google Business Profile data. This gives you a simpler option when you don’t need decision-maker contacts or want to keep prospect creation focused on the business itself.
Prospect Contact Enrichment also improves duplicate handling. One primary business contact is created, while additional emails and phone numbers can stay together on that record. Separate POCs remain separate contacts when they’re found, giving you cleaner CRM data without throwing away useful ways to reach the business.
According to the update, this website enrichment is currently available for sub-account Prospecting and is coming next to agency-level Prospecting as well, although contact creation isn’t available there.
Why Prospect Contact Enrichment Matters
Prospect Contact Enrichment matters because finding a business is only the first step. If your team still has to search for email addresses, hunt down phone numbers, clean up duplicate contacts, and figure out who to reach, you haven’t saved much time.
The new GHL Prospecting improvements help close that gap. When more contact information is available from the prospect’s website, GHL can bring those details into the CRM record. That gives your sales team more information to work with before they start reaching out.
Cleaner contact records are another big win. Instead of creating separate business contacts because Prospecting found different phone numbers or email addresses, those additional details can be kept together on one primary business contact. That means less duplicate cleanup and a CRM that’s easier to understand.
Prospect Contact Enrichment can also make your automations more useful. Prospecting contacts can include prospect tags and a contact source of Prospecting Tool, giving you clear data points for filtering, segmentation, and workflows. You could use that information to separate newly generated prospects from regular leads and build a follow-up process specifically for them.
Then there are the Points of Contact. If your sales process works better when you reach an owner, manager, or decision-maker directly, you can enable additional contact enrichment and let Prospecting search for those people. Each POC found can become a separate CRM contact rather than getting mixed into the main business record.
If you don’t need that extra research, you can keep Prospect Contact Enrichment simple and stick with the primary business contact. That flexibility matters because not every agency prospects the same way.
Prospecting shouldn’t leave you with another cleanup job. Whether you add five businesses or five hundred, having the right details already in your CRM means your team can get on with the actual outreach instead of sorting through messy records.
How to Use Prospect Contact Enrichment in GHL
Prospect Contact Enrichment works as part of the Prospecting process inside GoHighLevel. The big change is what can happen when you add a prospect. GHL can collect more available contact information and create a cleaner CRM record instead of leaving you with basic business data.
You can also decide whether you want Prospecting to look for additional Points of Contact. That choice matters. Some agencies only need the main business record, while others want the owner, manager, or decision-maker they can contact directly.
- Access Prospecting in GoHighLevel.
- Find the Business You Want to Prospect.
- Choose Your Contact Enrichment Option.
- Review the Primary CRM Contact.
Before you begin, make sure you’re logged in to your GoHighLevel sub-account and have a workflow you’d like to update.
Step 01 – Access Prospecting in GoHighLevel
- Prospecting is located inside the Marketing area of your sub-account.
1.1 Click on Marketing from the left-hand navigation menu.
- Look for Marketing in the main menu on the left side of your GHL dashboard.
1.2 Click Prospecting in menu.
- Select Prospecting to open the tool and view your prospecting dashboard.
1.3 Click Add Prospect to begin searching for a business.
- Click Add Prospect to start a new prospect search.

Step 02 – Find the Business You Want to Prospect
- Set up your search so GHL can find businesses that match the type of prospect and location you want to target.
2.1 Search for the type of business or specific business you want to add.
- Enter the business type, industry, or specific business name you want Prospecting to search for.
2.2 Add the location of the prospect
- Enter the city, area, or location where you want GHL to look for potential prospects.
2.3 Add the radius
- Choose the search radius to control how far around your selected location GHL should look for matching businesses.
2.4 Click search
- Click Search to generate a list of businesses that match the search details you entered.

Step 03 – Choose Your Contact Enrichment Option
- Choose whether you want GHL to create only the main business contact or also look for an individual Point of Contact connected to the business.
3.1 Click +add
- Find the business you want to prospect and click + Add to open the available contact options.
3.2 Check Add a point of contact for this business
- Select this option if you want Prospecting to look for a person connected to the business, such as an owner, manager, or decision-maker.
3.3 Enable additional contact enrichment if you want GHL to search for Points of Contact and additional contact details.
- Turn on additional contact enrichment if you want GHL to search for available Points of Contact and extra contact details for the business.
3.4 Click Add prospect
- Click Add Prospect to save the business as a prospect and let GHL begin creating the contact using the enrichment options you selected.

Step 04 – Review the Primary CRM Contact
- Once the prospect has been added, review the primary contact record to make sure GHL has brought the available business and contact information into your CRM.
4.1 Review the business information added to the CRM record.
- Check the contact for available details such as the business name, email addresses, phone numbers, website URL, address, location information, prospect tags, and contact source.

The important change here is how GHL handles multiple contact details. If Prospecting finds additional phone numbers or emails for the business, they can be stored on the primary business contact instead of automatically creating another business contact for each one.
That’s where Prospect Contact Enrichment starts earning its keep. Instead of finishing your prospecting session with a pile of business names that still need research, you can start with cleaner CRM contacts and more useful information for the outreach that comes next.
Pro Tips for Prospect Contact Enrichment
Prospect Contact Enrichment can save you a lot of cleanup, but that doesn’t mean you should switch on every option and call it a day. How you use the enrichment settings should match how your team actually handles prospects.
Start by deciding whether you really need additional Points of Contact. If your agency sells directly to business owners, managers, or other decision-makers, POC enrichment can give your sales team more people to reach. If you only need the main business record for your process, keeping additional enrichment disabled can keep things simpler.
Don’t create extra contacts just because you find another email address or phone number. One of the biggest improvements with Prospect Contact Enrichment is that additional business emails and phone numbers can stay on the primary business contact. GHL already supports multiple phone numbers and additional contact information within CRM records, so take advantage of that cleaner setup.
Use the Prospecting Tool contact source and prospect tags to keep these leads organized. Instead of mixing cold prospects with referrals, form submissions, booked appointments, and existing customers, build filters that make it easy to see exactly where your prospects came from.
This is also where workflows can become useful. You could use your prospect tags or other available contact information to organize newly added prospects, assign internal tasks, move qualified leads into the right process, or prepare contacts for a follow-up campaign.
Before launching outreach, review the enriched information. Prospect Contact Enrichment gives you more data to work with, but your team should still check that the contact and business details make sense before using them.
And don’t confuse more contacts with better prospecting. Ten useful decision-makers are worth a lot more than a CRM stuffed with contacts your sales team will never use.
Keep the data you need. Keep the records clean. Then build your outreach and automation around information that can actually help move the prospect forward.
What Prospect Contact Enrichment Means for Your Business
Prospect Contact Enrichment can make the jump from finding a business to actually working that prospect a whole lot easier. Instead of treating Prospecting as just a way to build a list, you can use it as the starting point for a cleaner sales process inside GHL.
Think about an agency targeting local roofing companies. You find 50 potential businesses through Prospecting. Without good enrichment, your team may still need to visit websites, hunt for email addresses, find phone numbers, identify decision-makers, and clean everything up before outreach can even begin.
Now, Prospect Contact Enrichment can do more of that heavy lifting during the prospecting process.
When GHL finds an email or phone number on the company’s website, it can use that information to fill out the main business contact. Find another number or email? It doesn’t need another contact record. Those details can stay with the same business. And if you want to know who’s actually behind the company, POC enrichment can help uncover owners, managers, and other people worth reaching.
That creates a much cleaner path:
Prospect → Enrichment → CRM Contact → Segmentation → Workflow → Outreach
This matters even more when you’re prospecting in bulk. Nobody wants the team burning half the day looking up businesses or untangling messy contact records. With more of that groundwork already done, they can get on with checking the leads, deciding which ones are worth chasing, and reaching out.
The richer CRM data can also give your automations more to work with. Prospect tags, source information, contact details, and other available business data can help you organize prospects and decide what should happen next.
You might build one process for prospects that only have basic business information and another for contacts where you’ve found a useful decision-maker. The goal isn’t to blast every enriched contact with the same message. It’s to use the better data to make smarter decisions about your outreach.
That’s the real value of Prospect Contact Enrichment. GHL isn’t just helping you find more businesses. It’s helping turn those businesses into cleaner, more useful CRM records that your sales and marketing processes can actually work with.
Prospect Contact Enrichment FAQs
Better Prospect Contact Enrichment, Better Outreach
Prospect Contact Enrichment gives GHL users a better starting point for turning businesses into workable sales leads. Instead of filling your CRM with basic records that still need research, Prospecting can now bring more useful contact information into the process from the start.
Available website emails and phone numbers can help fill out the primary business contact. Additional contact details can stay on that same record, which means fewer unnecessary duplicate business contacts and less cleanup for your team.
You also get control over how far Prospect Contact Enrichment should go. If you need owners, managers, or other decision-makers, enable additional POC enrichment and let Prospecting search for them. If your process only needs the primary business contact, keep things simple and leave additional enrichment off.
That choice comes in handy because agencies don’t all prospect the same way. Sometimes the main business contact is plenty. Other times, you’ll want the names and details of a few people inside the company before you start reaching out.
Getting the information into GHL is only half the job. What matters is whether your team can actually use it. With the prospect details organized in the CRM, it’s easier to sort leads, decide who’s worth following up with, and get the right contacts into the right process.
If Prospecting is already part of your GoHighLevel lead generation process, take a look at the new enrichment options and decide what level of contact information your team actually needs.
Better prospecting isn’t just about finding more businesses. It’s about finding the right information, keeping your CRM clean, and giving your team something useful to work with.
