Custom Field Management Just Got Faster in GoHighLevel

Custom Field Management in GoHighLevel is now much easier when you are building longer Forms, Surveys, or Quizzes. Before, you often had to find and add fields one at a time, which could get slow when a form needed a lot of information.

Now you can select several fields at once, add them in one click, or drag the whole group onto the canvas together. You can also filter by Contact, Opportunity, Business, or custom objects, then search for the exact fields you need.

The update also improves where fields are placed. Bulk-added fields can appear after the active item on the canvas, and they keep the same order shown in the sidebar. It is a simple change, but it makes large builds cleaner, faster, and easier to manage.

Custom Field Management in GHL now works across Forms, Surveys, and Quizzes, making it easier to add several fields at once. In this walkthrough, we’ll use a Form as the example, but the same bulk field selection and add process also works in Surveys and Quizzes.

Here are the steps we will follow:

• Open your Form in GHL.
• Open Add Object Fields.
• Select and add multiple fields.
• Review and save your form.

To start, make sure you are logged in to the correct GoHighLevel sub-account.

• The main menu on the left side of your screen includes the main areas you use in GoHighLevel.

1.1 Click Sites.

• This opens the Sites area in your GHL sub-account.

1.2 Click Forms in the top menu.

• The Forms section will open.
• You will see the forms available inside the sub-account.

1.3 Click the form you want to edit.

• This opens the Form Builder for that form.

• The Form Element panel on the left side of the builder includes the tools you can use to add fields to your form.

2.1 Click Add Object Fields.

• This opens the Custom Field Management area.
• You will see the available field groups listed in the sidebar.

2.2 Review the available field groups.

• These may include Contact fields, General Info, Additional Info, and other field groups available in the sub-account.
• You can open a group to view the fields inside it.

• The updated Custom Field Management tools let you select several fields before adding them to the form.

3.1 Click the field group you want to use.

• This expands the group and shows the fields inside it.

3.2 Click the checkbox beside each field you want to add.

• Selected fields will stay checked while you continue choosing more.
• The number of selected fields appears at the bottom of the sidebar.

3.3 Click More if you need to view additional fields in the group.

• This lets you keep browsing without leaving the current section.

3.4 Review the selection count at the bottom of the sidebar.

• GHL shows how many fields are currently selected.

3.5 Choose how you want to add the selected fields.

• Click Add N fields at the bottom of the sidebar to insert the whole selection at once.

OR

• Drag any selected field onto the canvas.
• Every checked field will move with it as a group.
• This lets you place several fields on the form in one action.

3.6 Review where the fields are added.

• The selected fields are added in the same order they appear in the sidebar.
• If you use drag and drop, you can place the group where you want it on the canvas.

• Once the fields are added, review their position and make sure the layout looks right.

4.1 Review the newly added fields on the form.

• Confirm that the correct fields were added.
• Check their order and placement before saving.

4.2 Make any changes you need to the fields or layout.

• You can adjust the form before publishing or using it.

4.3 Click Preview if you want to check the form as a visitor would see it.

• This gives you a quick way to review the finished form.

4.4 Click Save when you are happy with the changes.

• Your updated form will now include the fields you added through the new Custom Field Management workflow.

Once your fields are in place, you can use the same Custom Field Management process in Forms, Surveys, and Quizzes. For this demo, we used a Form, but the same workflow helps you select and add multiple fields faster across all three builders.

Custom Field Management gets even more useful when you plan your field group before adding it. Start by choosing the right object and field group, then select the fields in the order you want them to appear. This can save time later when you review the form layout.

Use the Add N fields button when you want speed. Use drag and drop when placement matters more. If you are building a longer Form, Survey, or Quiz, it is also worth using search and field groups instead of scrolling through the full list every time.

One simple habit can make a big difference. Finish selecting fields from one object before switching to another, because changing the object clears your current selection. That keeps the process clean and helps avoid adding the wrong fields by mistake.
